Stellaris corvette

The Corvette

The corvette was specialized for quick attacks.
Hit and Run against large ships quickly respond to offensive tactics and army-free colonial defenses.
There was a time when we could not beat a huge number of corvette, but it has been gone since 1.8 patches. It still has a fast recovery rate and is useful against large ships.

Stellaris Cruiser

The Cruiser

Specialization: Warship
The Cruiser is designed to be the “main” warship of a fleet, and a group of them will typically consist of the majority of a fleet’s medium range firepower. They will feature average speed, weapons, and defenses, but will be relatively cheap and quick to build, allowing a player to build up a decent fleet augmented by a few capital ships.

Stellaris Light Carrier

The Light Carrier

Specialization: Carrier
The Light Carrier is a larger variant of the Cruiser designed to carry small numbers of strike craft. However, with most of the ship’s space dedicated to its main purpose, it features only minimal weapons and defenses, although it is quite fast for its size.

Base Stats:
(These are the stats of the ship before any bonuses, utilities, or weapons are added).
  • Build Time: 225 Days (7.5 Months)
  • Mineral Cost: 450
  • Fleet Capacity: 5

Stellaris Battle Cruiser

The Battle Cruiser

Specialization: Warship
The Battlecruiser is a heavier, slower, and more powerful version of the Cruiser. It’s primary role is to dish out as much damage as a Battleship, but at a faster speed and lower cost. This ability comes with a price, however, as the ship’s utilities and defenses cannot match those of a fully equipped Battleship.

Base Stats:
(These are the stats of the ship before any bonuses, utilities, or weapons are added).
  • Build Time: 285 Days (9.5 Months)
  • Mineral Cost: 700
  • Fleet Capacity: 7
  • Hull Points: 2400
  • Armor: 50.8 (41.5% Damage Reduction)

  • Sublight Speed: 4.5
  • Combat Speed: 0.8

Research Requirements:
  • Unlocked automatically at Spaceport Level 5

Stellaris Strike Cruiser

The Strike Cruiser

Specialization: Fleet Interdiction
The Strike Cruiser is fairly expensive when compared to the Cruiser, but features a much faster speed and excellent defenses for its size. Its primary purpose is to interdict an escaping enemy fleet with a special aura and slow it down (in both sublight and FTL) long enough for larger ships to catch up and enter the engagement.

Base Stats:
(These are the stats of the ship before any bonuses, utilities, or weapons are added).
  • Build Time: 255 Days (8.5 Months)
  • Mineral Cost: 450
  • Fleet Capacity: 6

  • Sublight Speed: 5.2
  • Combat Speed: 1.3

Research Requirements:
  • Unlocked automatically at Spaceport Level 6

Stellaris Battleship

The Battleship

Specialization: Warship
The main capital ship of the fleet, the Battleship’s role is to both dish out heavy damage and take it. The role of this ship is to “tank” enemy fire as a big, tempting target while the main body of the fleet (usually Cruisers and Battlecruisers) are throwing large amounts of “bulk” mid-range firepower at the enemy.

Base Stats:
(These are the stats of the ship before any bonuses, utilities, or weapons are added).
  • Build Time: 315 Days (10.5 Months)
  • Mineral Cost: 900
  • Fleet Capacity: 8
  • Hull Points: 3000
  • Armor: 80 (55.7% Damage Reduction)
  • Evasion: 10%
  • Sublight Speed: 4.0
  • Combat Speed: 0.6

Research Requirements:
  • Spaceport Level 6
  • Battleships

Stellaris Carrier

The Carrier

Specialization: Carrier
The Carrier serves as the home base for its numerous strike craft and can be upgraded to maximize its structural space for even more hangar bays. Although it is larger than a Battleship, most of the hull space is dedicated to launch and landing systems, leaving little room for anything more than basic point defense weapons. It is highly recommended that it be protected by other warships.

Base Stats:
(These are the stats of the ship before any bonuses, utilities, or weapons are added).
  • Build Time: 405 Days (13.5 Months)
  • Mineral Cost: 1500
  • Fleet Capacity: 10
  • Hull Points: 5000
  • Armor: 80 (48.6% Damage Reduction)
  • Evasion: 9%
  • Sublight Speed: 3.7
  • Combat Speed: 0.4

Research Requirements:
  • Spaceport Level 6
  • Battleships
  • Carriers

Stellaris Dreadnought

The Dreadnought

Specialization: Heavy Warship
The Dreadnought is a very heavy version of the Battleship. It features very heavy weapons and defenses, and is designed to put out damage as well as take it. Too expensive to be the main combat ship of the fleet, but provides a nice bonus to overall fleet firepower.

Base Stats:
(These are the stats of the ship before any bonuses, utilities, or weapons are added).
  • Build Time: 645 Days (21.5 Months)
  • Mineral Cost: 2000
  • Fleet Capacity: 15
  • Hull Points: 7500
  • Armor: 105 (60% Damage Reduction)
  • Evasion: 8%
  • Sublight Speed: 3.7
  • Combat Speed: 0.4

Research Requirements:
  • Spaceport Level 6
  • Battleships
  • Carriers
  • Dreadnoughts

Stellaris Super Dreadnought

The Super Dreadnought

Specialization: Fleet Command Ship
The Superdreadnought is a larger variant of the Dreadnought designed to be the largest main-line warship. It features very heavy weapons and defenses, and will feature an aura slot to provide bonuses to all of the ships in its fleet. The Superdreadnought is the only ship class outside of the Flagship that can support the EWAR Sensor Array.

Base Stats:
(These are the stats of the ship before any bonuses, utilities, or weapons are added).
  • Build Time: 720 Days (24 Months)
  • Mineral Cost: 3000
  • Fleet Capacity: 25
  • Hull Points: 10,000
  • Armor: 110.2 (63% Damage Reduction)
  • Evasion: 7%
  • Sublight Speed: 3.7
  • Combat Speed: 0.4

Research Requirements:
  • Spaceport Level 6
  • Battleships
  • Carriers
  • Dreadnoughts
  • Superdreadnoughts

Stellaris Flagship

The Flagship

Specialization: Flagship
The Flagship is the ultimate symbol of an interstellar civilization’s military might. Larger even than the feared Superdreadnought, the Flagship has space for five section frames. Designed for maximum versatility, each section has many configurations, allowing a nation to design their Flagship to suit their purposes. Mounting far more thrusters per ton than any other ship, the Flagship can be made to take any position in the fleet, from a long-range battery in the rear to a massive brawler at the tip of a fleet’s spear.

This versatility comes at a heavy cost. Merely building the Flagship is an enormous endeavor, a colossal consumption of resources, and it takes the entire GDP of a small star nation to maintain – and when it leaves port, even the largest of budgets will feel the strain. For this reason, the very existence of the Flagship has powerful political effects. The populace will take pride in the symbolic value of the ship, and civilians and the Navy alike will feel secure in the knowledge that such an awesome power stands ready to defend them, especially in times of war.

However, there will always be those who maintain that the massive drain on resources is not worth the benefits, and that the Naval budget would be better spent on many ships, as opposed to a single warship. It will take a continual effort to maintain the political will to save the ship from budget cutbacks. Similarly, the populace will not accept footing the cost of building or maintaining a second Flagship while one is already active, though they will be willing to replace it should the first one be lost in battle.

The Flagship can be custom designed in the ship designer and can be equipped with the EWAR Sensor Array.

Base Stats:
(These are the stats of the ship before any bonuses, utilities, or weapons are added).
  • Build Time: 1080 Days (36 Months)
  • Mineral Cost: 10,000
  • Maintenance Cost: 2 Influence
  • Fleet Capacity: 75
  • Hull Points: 60,000
  • Armor: 122.5 (70% Damage Reduction)
  • Evasion: -95% (Penalty due to large ship size)
  • Sublight Speed: 5.0
  • Combat Speed: 0.6

Build Limit

The Flagship requires a massive investment of time and resources. Trying to build a second one will cause the first one built to be scrapped for resources to build the new one. The player will receive a warning popup when the first ship is built informing them of this. If the ship is destroyed, you will be able to build another one without penalty.

Flagship Bonuses:
  • Generates 10 Unity per month
  • Fleetwide sensor range increased by 20%
  • Leaders gain experience 20% faster
  • Population happiness increased by 10%
  • Fleet Emergency FTL Time reduced by 25%

Research Requirements:
  • Spaceport Level 6
  • Light Carriers
  • Battleships
  • Carriers
  • Dreadnoughts
  • Superdreadnoughts
  • Flagship (This is a rare tier 4 tech so it won’t pop up as often as other techs.)
